Listed below are some recent emails to Garden Grabbers we have selected from people around the country who are concerned with the encroachment of developers on local property.

We've just had a planning application submitted for a set of 4 long gardens which back on to our property:
At the end of our garden is a belt of trees extending across the ends of many gardens from which about 40 properties benefit. We're only just starting our campaign, round 1 has been won with the Parish Council rejecting it out of hand. We're under no illusions about how many more rounds there will be!
I've scanned the newspaper article which we managed to get into the local press the same day as the PC planning meeting:

It was very disappointing to see that yesterday an objection was made to the LAND USE (GARDENS PROTECTION ETC) and the second reading has been adjourned until 19th October.

Hello
Read your site information with interest. We have set up an action group in Allestree, Derby, where lovely 1920s properties with beautiful gardens are just being gobbled up, and replaced with high density horrible housing.
Could you put any links on your site so that if people are looking they would see our site and be able to access the information? We have already linked you from ours!

WOuld be very pleased to hear from you. Have any of you had any success using covenants? we have covenants on many of these properties. These are totally seperate from planning, and are a legal rather than a planning issue. We intend to take it further, and enforce them as they say that only one detached property should be on each plot of land. Any help or suggestions would be very gratefully received. We are already in the process of printing and delivering about 6000 flyers!
